Peter Grunwald
Grunwald Associates founder and President Peter Grunwald has been a driving force behind the success of the research firm he established in 1994. He has managed large scale research and/or consulted on business and communications strategy for many Fortune 500 and public sector clients such as Microsoft, PBS, Apple, AT&T, National Academy of Sciences, Verizon, Educational Testing Service, and the National Park Service.
Peter is frequently quoted in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Wired, Financial Times, USA Today, Newsweek, Telephony, AP and his work is covered on CNN, National Public Radio, MSNBC and many other national and international outlets.
As a thought leader, Peter is often asked to speak publicly on topics ranging from education to social media and technology trends. He has spoken at leading industry events, such as the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the Kid Power and Teen Power marketing conferences, the National School Boards Association, American Association of School Administrators, Cable in the Classroom Summit, and the Information Industry Association. Peter has served as an expert adviser to several federal task forces and panels.
Before forming Grunwald Associates, Peter was Vice President of Issue Dynamics, Inc. (IDI), a leading Washington, DC public affairs firm in the telecommunications industry. At IDI, Peter created marketing and other alliances between corporate clients and leading education organizations and industry groups.
Prior to IDI, Peter was Director of Sales and Field Marketing for GTE Education Services. In this role, he helped market and manage the largest commercial online network in education, including SpecialNet, EdLine and Local Exchange (the network for the National League of Cities, the International City Managers Association, and others).
Peter also worked in the cable television industry, where he helped design local programming and city information systems for Viacom Communications, Cablevision Systems Development Corporation, and others. Grunwald's experience with consumer information services also includes Baseball Online, an information service he started for "fantasy baseball" fans.
Peter received a Master’s degree in Education from Harvard University.
